Kathleen Campbell is a multi-talented and versatile musician based in Mackay, Queensland. She plays harp, guitar, Irish tin whistle and bodhran, and has a Bachelor of Music in classical singing. Kathleen has been performing since she was ten years old and has been a professional musician for over ten years. She is heavily involved in Mackay’s musical community as both a performer and a musical director.

Kathleen has performed as solo guest artist with groups such as: Opera Tropics, Vivachi Entertainment, Gold Coast Irish Association, Mackay and District Italian Association, Mackay Choral Society, Mackay Comedy Players, Mackay Pipe and Drums and the Mackay Celtic Fiddle Club. She is a part of the original folk trio Folks Like Us, and also sings in the 6-part acapella group Songbirds. Since 2008 she has performed a monthly concert for toddlers at Artspace Mackay as part of their BMA Kidspace program.

Kathleen is the musical director of the Mackay U3A Hand Chime Ensemble, Saint Patrick’s College Choir and the Holy Spirit College Staff Chorale. She has also worked as a musical director and vocal coach for Red Giraffe Theatre and the Mackay Musical Comedy Players with shows including Jesus Christ Superstar, Sweeney Todd, Songs for a New World, 13: The Musical and the forthcoming Heading North for Joel Bow Productions. She is the vocal coach for the annual Mackay 4MK Carols in the City.

As a solo musician, Kathleen is an energetic and versatile performer. She performs as a harpist, or a singing guitarist with bass stomp box. Kathleen performs for wedding ceremonies and receptions, functions, festivals, birthday parties and special events.

She is a licensed supplier to Hamilton Island Weddings and will travel the area between Townsville and Rockhampton/Yeppoon, including Airlie Beach, the Whitsunday Islands and the Coalfields.

Kathleen also runs a private music studio teaching voice and guitar, and teaches the Japanese language at a kindergarten.
